๐Ÿ“ Title: Thy Kingdom Come O God

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Lewis Hensley

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 811

Stanza 1

THY kingdom come, O God,

Thy rule, O Christ, begin;

Break with Thine iron rod

The tyrannies of sin.

Stanza 2

Where is Thy reign of peace,

And purity, and love?

When shall all hatred cease,

As in the realms above?

Stanza 3

When comes the promised time

That war shall be no more--

Oppression, lust, and crime

Shall flee Thy face before?

Stanza 4

We pray Thee, Lord, arise,

And come in Thy great might:

Revive our longing eyes,

Which languish for Thy sight.

Stanza 5

Men scorn Thy sacred name,

And wolves devour Thy fold;

By many deeds of shame

We learn that love grows cold.

Stanza 6

O’er heathen lands afar

Thick darkness broodeth yet:

Arise, O morning Star,

Arise, and never set! Amen.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Let Your kingdom come, O Lord. Let Your kingdom come.  And free us from the wicked ruler of evil and sin over our lives, that we may love and serve You best of all this year. Amen! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: They Who Tread The Path Of Labour

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Henry Van Dyke

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 601

Stanza 1

THEY who tread the path of

labour follow where My feet have trod;

They who work without complaining do the holy will of God;

Nevermore thou needest seek Me;

I am with thee everywhere;

Raise the stone and thou shalt find Me; cleave the wood and I am there.

Stanza 2

Where the many toil together, there am I among My own;

Where the tired workman sleepeth, there am I with him alone.

I, the Peace that passeth knowledge, dwell amid the daily strife;

I, the Bread of heaven, am broken in the sacrament of life.

Stanza 3

Every task, however simple, sets the soul that does it free;

Every deed of love and mercy done to man, is done to Me.

Nevermore thou needest seek Me; I am with thee everywhere;

Raise the stone, and thou shalt find Me; cleave the wood and I am there.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

This year, make it your goal to closely walk with Christ Jesus. Follow Him and tread where His feet have trod. And it shall be better to you than any strategic plan you may have deviced for yourself. Reflect and pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Saviour, Thy Dying Love

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Sylvanus Dryden Phelps

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 579

Stanza 1

SAVIOUR, Thy dying love Thou gavest me,

Nor should I ought withhold,

My Lord, from Thee;

In love my soul would bow,

My heart fulfill its vow,

Some offering bring Thee now,

Something for Thee.

Stanza 2

At the blest mercy-seat

Pleading for me,

My feeble faith looks up,

Jesus, to Thee:

Help me the cross to bear,

Thy wondrous love declare,

Some song to raise, or prayer-

Something for Thee.

Stanza 3

Give me a faithful heart,

Likeness to Thee.

That each departing day

Henceforth may see

Some work of love begun,

Some deed of kindness done,

Some wanderer sought and won-

Something for Thee.

Stanza 4

All that I am and have,

Thy gifts so free,

In joy, in grief, through life,

O Lord, for Thee.

And when Thy face I see,

My ransomed soul shall be,

Through all eternity,

Something for Thee.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

What more can we ask? Christ Jesus has done it all for us! What more can we give? God has so loved us that He rather gave us His One and Only Begotten Son. With a saving heart, He came with a dying love and gave Himself all for our sake. What can we offer Him in return if not ourselves - all of our nature and to love and serve Him with them all? What more can we ask for if not for a faithful heart like His? May it be so for you if you sincerely desire same. Amen! Reflect and pray.

๐Ÿ“ Title: Now Praise We Great And Famous Men

✍๐Ÿป Composer: William George Tarrant

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 896

Stanza 1

Now praise we great and famous men,

The fathers, named in story;

And praise the Lord who now as then

Reveals in man His glory.

Stanza 2

Praise we the wise and brave and strong,

Who graced their generation;

Who helped the right, and fought the wrong,

And made our folk a nation.

Stanza 3

Praise we the great of heart and mind,

The singers sweetly gifted,

Whose music like a mighty wind

The souls of men uplifted.

Stanza 4

Praise we the peaceful men of skill

Who builded homes of beauty,

And, rich in art, made richer still

The brotherhood of duty.

Stanza 5

Praise we the glorious names we know;

And they---whose names have perished,

Lost in the haze of long ago---

In silent love be cherished.

Stanza 6

In peace their sacred ashes rest,

Fulfilled their day's endeavour;

They blest the earth, and they are blest

Of God and man, for ever.

Stanza 7

So praise we great and famous men,

The fathers, named in story;

And praise the Lord who now as then

Reveals in man His glory.

๐Ÿ’กHYMN REFLECTIONS:

Can history even ignore the people in whom God ever revealed His glory? No way! Has history ever done so before? Not at all! Live for His glory alone. Seek not for the glory that comes from humans but the glory that comes from God, and humans will praise God because of you. O what a privilege! Reflect and pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Hark! Hark, My Soul!

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Frederick William Faber

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 651

Stanza 1

HARK! hark, my soul! Angelic songs are swelling

O’er earth’s green fields and ocean’s wave-beat shore:

How sweet the truth those blessรจd strains are telling

Of that new life when sin shall be no more!

Angels of Jesus, angels of light,

Singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!

Stanza 2

Onward we go; for still we hear them singing:

Come, weary souls, for Jesus bids you come;

And through the dark, its echoes sweetly ringing,

The music of the gospel leads us home.

Angels of Jesus, angels of light,

Singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!

Stanza 3

Far, far away, like bells at evening pealing,

The voice of Jesus sounds o’er land and sea,

And laden souls, by thousands meekly stealing,

Kind Shepherd, turn their weary steps to Thee.

Angels of Jesus, angels of light,

Singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!

Stanza 4

Rest comes at length; though life be long and dreary,

The day must dawn and darksome night be past;

Faith’s journey ends in welcomes to the weary,

And heaven, the heart’s true home, will come at last.

Angels of Jesus, angels of light,

Singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!

Stanza 5

Angels, sing on, your faithful watches keeping;

Sing us sweet fragments of the songs above,

Till morning’s joy shall end the night of weeping,

And life’s long shadows break in cloudless love.

Angels of Jesus, angels of light,

Singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Heaven is a common knowledge, but we hardly spend time to think about it. This hymn offers some help. Carefully study it and make heaven your dream. We may not know who is reading this now. In fact, we need not to even know. However, when we meet in heaven, we shall be well known even as we get to know others. So come on: think heaven! Tis Jesus who is inviting you. Now that you have breath, live for the Lord only, so that when our pilgrim's journey here ends, we will be welcomed by God's angels to take us home. Amen! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Ray Palmer

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 238

Stanza 1

MY faith looks up to Thee,

Thou Lamb of Calvary,

Saviour divine:

Now hear me while I pray;

Take all my guilt away;

O let me from this day

Be wholly Thine.

Stanza 2

May Thy rich grace impart

Strength to my fainting heart,

My zeal inspire;

As Thou hast died for me,

O may my love to Thee

Pure, warm, and changeless be,

A living fire.

Stanza 3

While life’s dark maze I tread,

And griefs around me spread,

Be Thou my guide;

Bid darkness turn to day,

Wipe sorrow’s tears away,

Nor let me ever stray

From Thee aside.

Stanza 4

When ends life’s transient dream,

When death’s cold, sullen stream

Shall o’er me roll,

Blest Saviour, then, in love,

Fear and distrust remove;

O bear me safe above,

A ransomed soul. Amen.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The Christian journey is a faith journey: a walk by faith and not by sight; a life of daily surrender to the Will and Purpose of God. Are you ready to so daily, and even now? Then go ahead and re-dedicate your life to the Lord. This hymn does not only encourage but also reminds us to do so. Reflect and pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Rescue The Perishing

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Frances Jane van Alstyne

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 338

Stanza 1

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,

Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave:

Weep o’er the erring one, lift up the fallen,

Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying;

Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.

Stanza 2

Though they are slighting Him, still He is waiting,

Waiting the penitent child to receive.

Plead with them earnestly, plead with them gently:

He will forgive if they only believe.

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying;

Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.

Stanza 3

Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter,

Feelings lie buried that grace can restore;

Touched by a loving hand, wakened by kindness,

Chords that were broken will vibrate once more.

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying;

Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.

Stanza 4

Rescue the perishing--duty demands it;

Strength for thy labour the Lord will provide;

Back to the narrow way patiently win them;

Tell the poor wanderer a Saviour has died.

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying;

Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Do you have concern for the perishing and the lost? Here is a test: Have you ever felt or wanted someone saved? If not, then it's likely, says Charles Spurgeon, that you yourself might have not been saved. Let each one now examine his/her own life and do what is right. Receive the power of the Holy Spirit now to witness Christ Jesus to others! Amen. Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: I Am So Glad

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Philipp Bliss

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 421

Stanza 1

I AM so glad that our Father in heaven

Tells of His love in the Book He has given:

Wonderful things in the Bible I see;

This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,

Jesus loves even me.

Stanza 2

Though I forget Him, and wander away,

Still He doth love me wherever I stray;

Back to His dear loving arms do I flee,

When I remember that Jesus loves me.

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,

Jesus loves even me.

Stanza 3

O if there’s only one song I can sing,

When in His beauty I see the great King,

This shall my song in eternity be,

O what a wonder that Jesus loves me.

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,

Jesus loves even me.

Stanza 4

If one should ask of me: How can I tell?

Glory to Jesus, I know very well;

God’s Holy Spirit with mine doth agree,

Constantly witnessing: Jesus loves me.

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,

Jesus loves even me.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Since creation, God has demonstrated His love to man [and woman]. He created us in His own image and likeness. Man sinned and went astray but God sent His Only Son to this world to die for the remission of man's [our] sins. And all these tell of the wonder that 'Jesus loves me'. Do you love Him too? Reflect and pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: God Moves In A Mysterious Way

✍๐Ÿป Composer: William Cowper

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 503

Stanza 1

God moves in a mysterious way

His wonders to perform;

He plants His footsteps in the sea,

And rides upon the storm.

Stanza 2

Deep in unfathomable mines

Of never-failing skill

He treasures up His bright designs,

And works His sovereign will.

Stanza 3

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take,

The clouds ye so much dread

Are big with mercy, and shall break

In blessings on your head.

Stanza 4

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,

But trust Him for His grace;

Behind a frowning providence

He hides a smiling face.

Stanza 5

His purposes will ripen fast,

Unfolding every hour;

The bud may have a bitter taste,

But sweet will be the flower.

Stanza 6

Blind unbelief is sure to err,

And scan His work in vain;

God is His own interpreter,

And He will make it plain.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

From the creation account to through to dividing the sea for the Israelites to escape from Pharoah and his army, right up to the provision of manna in the wilderness, God has always been mysterious. Good thing is, He remains mysterious till today! The greatest of His mysteries is His coming from Heaven to dwell among men. His purpose? To reconcile sinful man to Himself - an act stemming from His unending love. That love is still available to all who accepts Him as their Lord and Saviour and surrender to His. Only then will He extend even greater mysteries in your life. Amen! Surrender to Him now! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: I Want A Principle Within

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Charles Wesley

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 626

Stanza 1

I WANT a principle within

Of jealous, godly fear,

A sensibility of sin,

A pain to feel it near.

Stanza 2

I want the first approach to feel

Of pride or fond desire,

To catch the wandering of my will,

And quench the kindling fire.

Stanza 3

That I from Thee no more may part,

No more Thy goodness grieve,

The filial awe, the fleshly heart,

The tender conscience, give.

Stanza 4

Quick as the apple of an eye,

O God, my conscience make;

Awake my soul when sin is nigh,

And keep it still awake.

Stanza 5

O may the least omission pain

My well instructed soul,

And drive me to the blood again

Which makes the wounded whole.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The Christian ought to fear sin and flee from every appearances of evil. Is this your desire? Make this hymn a daily prayer. Reflect on it and put it into practice. And the God of all grace will make available to you the grace to overcome sin in your life. Remember, Christ Jesus is coming back not for everyone but for a pure and righteous church; a people who have not soiled their garments. Are you part of that number? Reflect and pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Charles Wesley

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 1

Stanza 1

O FOR a thousand tongues to sing

My great Redeemer’s praise,

The glories of my God and King,

The triumphs of His grace!

Stanza 2

My gracious Master and my God,

Assist me to proclaim,

To spread through all the earth abroad

The honours of Thy name.

Stanza 3

Jesus! the name that charms our fears,

That bids our sorrows cease;

’Tis music in the sinner’s ears,

’Tis life, and health, and peace.

Stanza 4

He  speaks, and, listening to His voice,

New life the dead receive,

The  mournful, broken hearts rejoice,

The humble poor believe.

Stanza 5

He breaks the power of cancelled sin,

He sets the prisoner free;

His blood can make the foulest clean,

His blood availed for me.

Stanza 6

See all your sins on Jesus laid:

The Lamb of God was slain,

His soul was once an offering made

For every soul of man.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The sense of guilt of sin can be so strong, and enslaving wherever and whenever the devil uses it as a tool. But Jesus knows about this. The good news is, Jesus breaks the power of cancelled sin. Look at stanza five again, and ask for grace to help you wherever and whenever you are struggling with guilt. Reflect and pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Sinners Jesus Will Receive

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Erdmann Neumeister and tr. by Emma Frances Bevan

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 322

Stanza 1

SINNERS Jesus will receive;

Sound His word of grace to all

Who the heavenly pathway leave,

All who linger, all who fall.

Sing it o’er and o'er again:

Christ receiveth sinful men;

Make the message clear and plain:

Christ receiveth sinful men.

Stanza 2

Come, and He will give you rest;

Trust Him, for His Word is plain;

He will take the sinfulest:

Christ receiveth sinful men.

Sing it o’er and o'er again:

Christ receiveth sinful men;

Make the message clear and plain:

Christ receiveth sinful men.

Stanza 3

Now my heart condemns me not,

Pure before the law I stand;

He who cleansed me from all spot

Satisfied its last demand.

Sing it o’er and o'er again:

Christ receiveth sinful men;

Make the message clear and plain:

Christ receiveth sinful men.

Stanza 4

Christ receiveth sinful men,

Even me with all my sin;

Purged from every spot and stain,

Heaven with Him I enter in.

Sing it o’er and o'er again:

Christ receiveth sinful men;

Make the message clear and plain:

Christ receiveth sinful men.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Do not stay away from Christ Jesus because of your sins. Rather, come to Him because of it. For He receives sinners, cleanses them, transforms them, and makes them useful. So keep coming, He is still waiting for you. Go to Him now in prayer!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Go, Labour On

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Horatius Bonar

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 589

Stanza 1

GO, labour on; spend, and be spent,

Thy joy to do the Father’s will:

It is the way the Master went;

Should not the servant tread it still?

Stanza 2

Go, labour on; ’tis not for nought,

Thy earthly loss is heavenly gain:

Men heed thee, love thee, praise thee not;

The Master praises; what are men?

Stanza 3

Go, labour on, while it is day;

The world’s dark night is hastening on:

Speed, speed thy work, cast sloth away;

It is not thus that souls are won.

Stanza 4

Men die in darkness at your side,

Without a hope to cheer the  tomb:

Take up the torch, and wave it wide,

The torch that lights time’s thickest gloom.

Stanza 5

Toil on, faint not, keep watch, and  pray;

Be wise, the erring soul to win;

Go forth into the world’s highway,

Compel the wanderer to come in.

Stanza 6

Toil on, and in thy toil rejoice;

For toil comes rest, for exile home:

Soon shalt thou hear the Bridegroom’s voice,

The midnight peal: Behold, I come!

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

It is amazing how some people find excuses for not doing the work of the Father (Almighty God). In this Covid-19 times, greater opportunities for doing God's work have been opened. Don’t relax dear men and women of God. Go labour on. Spend time, energy, and every resource at your disposal to do the Master's will. And great shall your reward be. Amen! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Love Divine, All Love Excelling

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Charles Wesley

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 431

Stanza 1

Love divine, all loves excelling,

Joy of heaven, to earth come down;

Fix in us Thy humble dwelling;

All Thy faithful mercies crown;

Jesu, Thou art all compassion;

Pure, unbounded love Thou art;

Visit us with Thy salvation;

Enter every trembling heart.

Stanza 2

Come, almighty to deliver;

Let us all Thy grace receive;

Suddenly return, and never,

Never more Thy temples leave:

Thee we would be always blessing,

Serve Thee as Thy hosts above,

Pray, and praise Thee, without ceasing,

Glory in Thy perfect love.

Stanza 3

Finish then Thy new creation,

Pure and spotless let us be;

Let us see Thy great salvation,

Perfectly restored in Thee;

Changed from glory into glory,

Till in heaven we take our place,

Till we cast our crowns before Thee,

Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The love of the Lord Jesus Christ is divine. It exceeds and excels beyond all others. He is full of all compassion, and His love is also pure and unbounded, full of salvation. Let us therefore beseech Him to visit our trembling hearts with His salvation, and to make His home there. Amen! Pray!

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Mozarabic Breviary; tr. by John Ellerton

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 671

Stanza 1

SING Alleluia forth in duteous praise,

O citizens of heaven, and sweetly raise

An endless Alleluia!

Stanza 2

The Holy City shall take up your strain,

And with glad songs resounding wake again

An endless Alleluia!

Stanza 3

There, in one grand acclaim, for ever ring

The strains which tell the honour of your King,

An endless Alleluia!

Stanza 4

This is the rest for weary ones brought back,

This is the food and drink which none shall lack,

An endless Alleluia!

Stanza 5

While Thee, by whom were all things made, we praise

For ever, and tell out in sweetest lays

An endless Alleluia!

Stanza 6

To Thee, Eternal Son, our voices sing;

With them, O Holy Ghost, to Thee we bring

An endless Alleluia!

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

It is our duty to praise God no matter what happens to us. How much more praise we owe Him for treating us so kindly as if we didn't deserve otherwise. Sing to His name. Sing to His glory an endless Alleluia! Sing always. Sing unto the Lord without ceasing. Amen! Start now! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: Thee Will I Praise With All My Heart

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Charles Wesley

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 80

Stanza 1

THEE will I praise with all my heart,

And tell mankind how good Thou art,

How marvellous Thy works of grace;

Thy name I will in songs record,

And joy and glory in my Lord,

Extolled above all thanks and praise.

Stanza 2

The Lord will save His people here;

In times of need their help is near

To all by sin and hell oppressed;

And they that know Thy name will trust

In Thee, who, to Thy promise just,

Hast never left a soul distressed.

Stanza 3

The Lord is by His judgements known;

He helps His poor afflicted one,

His sorrows all He bears in mind;

The mourner shall not always weep,

Who sows in tears in joy shall reap,

With grief who seeks with joy shall find.

Stanza 4

A helpless soul that looks to Thee

Is sure at last Thy face to see,

And all Thy goodness to partake;

The sinner who for Thee doth grieve,

And longs, and labours to believe,

Thou never, never wilt forsake.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Are you sowing in tears? In joy you shall reap. Are you seeking in a moment of grief? With joy you too shall find. God bears all your sorrows in mind. For God helps His poor afflicted ones. Let's praise the Lord in all things. He alone is our Hope. Start now! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: O Worship The King

✍๐Ÿป Composer: Robert Grant

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 8

Stanza 1

O WORSHIP the King,

All glorious above;

O gratefully sing

His power and His love:

Our shield and defender,

The ancient of days,

Pavilioned in splendour,

And girded with praise.

Stanza 2

O tell of His might,

O sing of His grace,

Whose robe is the light,

Whose canopy space;

His chariots of wrath

The deep thunder-clouds form,

And dark is His path

On the wings of the storm.

Stanza 3

The earth with its store

Of wonders untold,

Almighty! Thy power

Hath founded of old,

Hath stablished it fast

By a changeless decree,

And round it hath cast,

Like a mantle, the sea.

Stanza 4

Thy bountiful care

What tongue can recite?

It breathes in the air,

It shines in the light,

It streams from the hills,

And sweetly distils

In the dew and the rain.

Stanza 5

Frail children of dust,

And feeble as frail,

In Thee do we trust,

Nor find Thee to fail;

Thy mercies how tender,

How firm to the end,

Our Maker, Defender,

Redeemer, and Friend!

Stanza 6

O measureless Might!

Ineffable Love!

While angels delight

To hymn Thee above,

The humbler creation,

Though feeble their lays,

With true adoration

Shall lisp to Thy praise. Amen.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The Lord our God is worthy of praise. Let us give Him what is His due always. For who is a great God like Him? O worship the King, all you nations and peoples. Amen! Start now! Pray!

✍๐Ÿป Composer: James Edmeston

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 611

Stanza 1

LEAD us, heavenly Father, lead us

O’er the world’s tempestuous sea;

Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,

For we have no help but Thee;

Yet possessing every blessing

If our God our Father be.

Stanza 2

Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us;

All our weakness Thou dost know;

Thou didst tread this earth before us,

Thou didst feel its keenest woe;

Lone and dreary, faint and weary,

Through the desert Thou didst go.

Stanza 3

Spirit of our God, descending,

Fill our hearts with heavenly joy,

Love with every passion blending,

Pleasure that can never cloy;

Thus provided, pardoned, guided,

Nothing can our peace destroy.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

True leadership is of the Lord. Let us seek Him and commit ourselves to following Him and Him alone. For in this, do we find the true path of life. Let God lead! Amen! Pray!

๐Ÿ“ Title: He That Is Down Needs Fear No Fall

✍๐Ÿป Composer: John Bunyan

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 514

Stanza 1

HE that is down needs fear no fall,

He that is low, no pride;

He that is humble ever shall

Have God to be his guide.

Stanza 2

I am content with what I have,

Little be it or much;

And, Lord, contentment still I crave,

Because Thou savest such.

Stanza 3

Fullness to such a burden is

That go on pilgrimage;

Here little, and hereafter bliss,

Is best from age to age.

๐Ÿ’ก HYMN REFLECTIONS:

This hymn has two key messages to share: Humility and Contentment. To be humble is to imitate Christ Jesus. To be content is a great gain for living. Don't forget to cultivate both in your walk with God in this dark world of sin. And if you lack these in any way, pray for more grace. And from there, do what is needful: walk, talk, think and act like Christ Jesus! Amen! Pray!
